Antique Maps of French Departments

These maps are from Victor Levasseur's  "L' Atlas National Illustre"
Published in Paris between 1842 and 1872 (some sources quote 1838 - 1870) by three known publishers -
 Binet ( 1842-1844 ) ,
Amable Combette (from 1845 to 1858)  somtimes with the address   rue La Parcheminerie, 15 ,
1845 edition - somtimes with the address  24, rue de Malte ,
 Pelissier (1859 -1872 ) sometimes with the address Rue des Noyes, 37
From 1847 to 1872 about half of the maps changed the decorative frames and statistical information.
Some editions have basic outline colouring, some have regional wash colouring.
In each case the core map is surrounded by a very decorative border with many typical illustrations of the region.
There are tables and charts with administrative and territoral statistics, along with details of local commerce and curiosities.

The maps listed here are generally in good condition with some light staining and discolouration at the margins from handling.

These are not in any order.    Titles are as they appear on the maps, not as they may be known today.
